TALKING SPORT WITH BERNARD JACKMAN

Monday’s Talking Sport features former Leinster hooker Leinster Bernard Jackman. Marie Crowe presents as Jackman talks through his life and rugby career. The Carlow native is regarded as one of the toughest competitors to put on a Leinster jersey and played at times with injuries that would have retired most players.

 His rise to stardom was an unconventional one bringing him to England with the Sale sharks and back into amateur rugby with Clontarf before making a name for himself with Connacht. He finally realised his dream when Leinster came calling and earned 9 international caps with Ireland, though it could have been many more.

A fascinating and engaging character, Jackman tells his story in his own words and style.
