Tottenham face Manchester United at the weekend, live on Setanta Sports, and skipper Ledley King has vowed to shut down Dimitar Berbatov.
Berbatov may well be in for a mixed reception from the Tottenham faithful on Saturday, having turned his back on Spurs in favour of a move to Manchester United in the summer.
Berbatov has shown only glimpses of his undoubted quality in Red Devils colours and King is keen to keep him quiet at the weekend, provided he is fit to play his second game in a week.
”I always miss a lot of training, but when a match comes around I refuse to be counted out,” King, who scored against West Ham on Monday, told the Daily Star.
”I’m desperate to face Manchester United, I’m really up for that one.
”I probably won’t train between now and Saturday, but I will do my best to prepare for United.”
King says the Spurs' players hold no ill feeling towards Berbatov despite the acrimonious nature of his exit.
”Dimitar was brilliant for us and I am sure he will receive a good reception from the fans,” added King. “Hopefully we can keep him quiet.
”We will shake his hand and say hello, but once we go onto the pitch we have a job to do in keeping him quiet.”
