Nantes boss Elie Baup has revealed he is eager to sign West Ham midfielder Julien Faubert.
The 25-year-old has failed to live up to expectation since his £6 million move from Bordeaux in 2007 and recently admitted: “Even if I am good here, I don't rule out the possibility of returning to France.
“Clubs like Lyon and Paris St Germain are very attractive. We'll see in January.”
And it appears Nantes may offer Faubert a chance to reignite his career in his homeland ahead of the 2010 World Cup.
Baup has described the France international as ‘a priority’ and told L’Equipe: "We can improve in attack.
“There are names rumoured and clubs like Bordeaux and Nancy want to sell or loan players.
"Bordeaux's Gabriel Obertan – why not? Nancy's Marc-Antoine Fortune and Issiar Dia, too. And why not Julien Faubert?
"At first, we have to work to reduce the squad, otherwise I will be forced to work a different way.”
