Rachid Bouaouzan’s agent has hinted that the winger will return to Wigan Athletic in the summer as NEC Nijmegen are not interested in securing a permanent deal due to concerns over the player’s attitude.
It was confirmed by NEC coach Mario Been on Tuesday that Bouaouzan had been demoted to the club’s reserve side after looking sluggish in training and reacting badly to being substituted in an Eredivisie game at the weekend.
No decision has yet been taken on his future at NEC but it appears increasingly likely that the 24-year-old will be sent back to The JJB Stadium in May.
Bouaouzan’s agent, Paul Nortan, certainly expects his stay with the Eredivisie club to come to an end.
“I do not think NEC is currently open to a stay,” agent Nortan told AD.
Bouaouzan, who has played only once for Wigan following a move from Sparta Rotterdam in 2007, has scored once in 27 games for NEC this season.
