Sir Alex Ferguson has moved to play down talk of a quintuple after Manchester United won the Carling Cup on Sunday.
United have already won the Club World Cup this season and, after a penalty-shootout victory over Tottenham in the Carling Cup final and another good weekend in The Premier League, they remain on course for an unprecedented trophy haul.
However, after their disappointing exit in the FA Cup to eventual winners Portsmouth last season, Ferguson has warned his players not to take anything for granted.
"It would be great to think we could do it, but my experience says we could go to Fulham next weekend, there will be a deflected shot off someone's backside and we're out of the FA Cup," he said.
"I won't get carried away with it and the rest of the players will keep their feet on the ground.
"The best thing we can do is gather ourselves, energise ourselves for Newcastle on Wednesday, which will be a very difficult game for us, and go from there, taking it one step at a time."
Goalkeeper Ben Foster played a starring role in the game as he capped a fine performance by saving Jamie O’Hara’s penalty, and Ferguson has tipped the 25-year-old to become an England regular before long.
"The future is his," he said.
"The present belongs to Edwin van der Sar, that's obvious, but, given that experience in a final, it strengthens my belief Ben will be England's goalkeeper for the next number of years.
"He is a very strong character. He has to be to have come through two cruciate knee injuries. It takes a tremendous amount of sacrifice to get through that and recover to do what he did today."
Foster, meanwhile, said he took tips from Van der Sar ahead of the shootout.
"I am delighted to win it,” he said. "It is a cruel way to win, but that is the way things go.
"When it comes to penalties, goalkeepers cannot lose. We are not expected to save them. If we do, it is a bonus.”
He added: "Edwin has not got a bad record with penalties and he just told me to be as intimidating as possible.
"I stood up for as long as I could and thankfully it worked."
