Wenger: Fab is ready to play

by Laurent Picard , 01 April 2009

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Cesc Fabregas is ready to make his return to action against Manchester City.

But the Arsenal manager has stated that the Spanish box-to-box midfielder will need three games to be back to his best.

Fabregas picked up a ligament injury during the Premier League game with Liverpool following a clash with Xabi Alonso.

The Gunners are still involved in three competitions and their French boss has labelled their next eight games ‘decisive’ ones.

When asked about Fabregas’ fitness, Wenger said on TF1: “He is ready to play again.

“But he needs three games to be back [at his best].

“We are due to play eight games in 25 days, which are all decisive,” he added.
