England up in Fifa World Rankings

England have moved up two places to seventh in the latest Fifa World Rankings while Republic of Ireland fell eight to 34th.

Top-ranked Spain are now on 1,729 points – over 350 ahead of second and third-placed Germany and Holland.

England have closed in on sixth-placed Argentina after the former’s victories over Slovakia and Ukraine and the latter’s heavy defeat to Bolivia.

Republic of Ireland suffered a significant drop in the table and have now been overtaken by 27th-placed Northern Ireland, who jumped 15 places.

Scotland, meanwhile, move up four places to 24th, while Wales drop five to 73rd.
