Spanish goal-machine open to Reds move

by Laurent Picard , 14 April 2009

Alvaro Negredo has refused to rule out the possibility of linking up with Fernando Torres at Liverpool.

The Almeria goal-machine has bagged 17 league goals so far this term, and Real Madrid have an option to re-sign him at the end of the season.

However, the 23-year-old has also been linked to Liverpool and Manchester City, and he admits he is tempted by the possibility of moving to The Premier League.

When asked if he would be happy to partner Torres next season, Negredo told El Almeria: “Who would not be happy to play for such a team as Liverpool alongside Fernando Torres, considering their form in the league?

“I would like to test myself there, but it depends on Real Madrid and I have no idea of what is going to happen.

“But at the moment I am focused on Almeria, who gave me the chance to make my league debut.”
