Eredivisie round-up

by Richard Field , 25 April 2009

Twente grabbed a late equaliser against Heerenveen but could be ousted from second spot if Ajax win in the Eredivisie on Sunday.

Steve McClaren’s side levelled in the 90th-minute through Theo Janssen after substitute Paulo Henrique had given fifth-place Heerenveen the advantage in a contest which finished 1-1.

PSV were too strong for Heracles with a 2-0 win courtesy of goals from Balazs Dzsusdzsak [21]and Danny Koevemans [75].

Seventh-place NAC won 3-2 at NEC with goals from Kees Kwakman [45], Nourdin Boukhari [47] and Anthony Lurling [90] enabling the visitors to edge past NEC for whom Lasse Schone scored twice.

This defeat dents NEC’s chance of claiming a place in Europe for next season while their conquerors look good for a place in the revamped Uefa Cup.

In the relegation scrap, second from bottom Roda drew 1-1 with 16th-placed Volendam at Parkstad Limberg Stadion.

The home side led through Boldiszar Bodor [26] who then received his marching orders in the 40th-minute. Yannick De Wit then saw red for Volendam before substitute Melvin Platje levelled.
