Steve McClaren’s FC Twente are looking to keep hold of Chelsea defender Slobodan Rajkovic for next season.
Rajkovic, who moved to Chelsea in 2005, is in the midst of his second loan spell away from Stamford Bridge but has played just 12 games under McClaren so far this season.
The 20-year-old’s poor appearance record can be blamed on a year-long Fifa ban imposed on him following allegations that he spat in the face of a referee. The sanction was restricted to only international games earlier this season.
With the likes of Michael Mancienne, Ricardo Carvalho, Alex and John Terry already battling it out for a starting berth at Chelsea, the club are unlikely to resist attempts to extend his stay in Holland.
Twente chairman Joop Munsterman told Sportweek: "Our wish is clear. We would like to loan him for next season too, but first Chelsea needs to decide what they want with him."
