DYNAMO KIEV 1-1 FT SHAKHTAR DONETSK
WERDER BREMEN 0-1 FT HAMBURG

21.35: Full time! What a game! Hamburg take an away goal advantage into the second leg.

21.33: Into the second minute of added time, and Werder are still pressing...

21.29: Werder have a late penalty shout turned away by who else. but Howard Webb, after the ball strikes a Hamburg arm at a Werder corner.

21.28: Naldo goes so close with a long-range effort that Rost gets down to. The ball squirms under the keeper's body and just wide...

21.26: Werder pressure at a corner and just-on Prodl heads down but Rost gathers.

21.24: Hamburg are repelling everything that Werder dish out, this is frantic stuff!

21.19: Pizarro slams an effort over the bar as Werder throw everything at Hamburg.

21.15: Werder are really pushing for a leveller! Ozil's driving run sets Diego up for a shot which is deflected just wide.

21.11: Demel is awesome! First he puts in a great saving challenge on Tziolis, then cuts out a dangerous ball into the area. Rosenberg then sends the ball over the bar from 12 yards!

21.07: HAMBURG GO CLOSE! Pitroipa connects with Olic's low cross and flashes the ball across the face of goal, and just wide!

21.05: SAVE FROM WIESE! Olic is clean through and goes one-on-one with Werder's keeper, who stands up and sees the Hamburg man try and chip the ball. He blocks it though! We're back up the other end now...

21.01: Boenisch swerves a shot wide for Werder. They're well in with a shout of an equaliser - Almeida goes close as he glances a header wide!

20.57: After a wave of attacks from Hamburg, Werder go on the offensive. Hamburg regain possession. This really is an end to end affair...

20.52: SAVE FROM ROST! The Hamburg keeper tips a cross into the path of Almeida, but dives to his right to save the Werder man's headed rebound.

20.48: Aogo tickles the side netting of Wiese's goal with a low shot.

20.47: Play stops for a couple of minutes to allow smoke from a flare or firework to clear. Hamburg resume play with a free-kick.

20.45: Kick off. We're back underway...

20.30: Half time. Hamburg go in a goal up.

20.27: CHANCE FOR WERDER! Terrible miss from Pizarro! An inviting cross begs to be headed home, but he nods well wide from eight yards.

20.26: Diego tries to find Pizarro with a cleverly dinked ball over the Hamburg defence, but it just has too much weight on it and Rost collects.

20.25: Tziolis picks up a yellow for what could've been a nasty one on Demel. He flew in there, extremely late...

20.21: Werder mount an attack but Diego's chipped cross only finds the head of Demel, who clears the danger.

20.16: A precious away goal for Martin Jol's side. How will hosts Werder react?

20.12: GOAL FOR HAMBURG! Trochowski heads home at the far post! A simply superb finish, as he heads back across Wiese to give the Werder keeper no chance. Demel with the delivery from the right wing.

20.11: Cracking cruncher from Hamburg's Aogo on Ozil, which earns him a yellow card. No complaints there.

20.06: SAVE FROM WIESE! Guerrero fires off a low shot which the Werder keeper reacts well to, getting down to his left quickly. Werder clear the resulting corner...

20.04: The pace of the game isn't exactly frantic but it's been end to end, with both side looking threatening in attack.

19.58: Hamburg force the issue with a powerful run from Guerrero, and are then forced to defend as Werder hit back.

19.53: No openings since those two chances. Both sides have had the ball and have looked dangerous in possession.

19.47: What a start! Olic is denied with a save at close range from Wiese at one end, while Diego digs out a shot at the other which Rost gathers low to his right.

19.45: Kick off! We're underway in Germany...

19.23: Team news is in for the Werder-Hamburg game. Stick with us for kick-off.

Werder Bremen: Wiese, Fritz, Mertesacker, Naldo, Boenisch, Tziolis, Frings, Diego, Ozil, Pizarro, Hugo Almeida
Subs: Mielitz, Tosic, Baumann, Vranjes, Rosenberg, Prodl, Harnik

Hamburg: Rost, Demel, Gravgaard, Mathijsen, Aogo, Jarolim, Da Silva, Pitroipa, Guerrero, Trochowski, Olic
Subs: Hesl, Boateng, Choupo-Moting, Ndjeng, Rincon, Benjamin, Torun

19.21: Full time. It finishes all square in the first leg between Dynamo and Shakhtar.

19.20: Into the fourth minute of the five added on...

19.17: Milevskiy with a super turn as Dynamo make a final push. It comes to nothing but they surge again...

19.14: That's very unsightly. Milevskiy has been classy tonight, but he lets himself down with a petulant lash-out at Gladkyy. He needs to sort that nasty 80s Eastern Bloc-style hair-do out as well.

19.10: Shakhtar are pressing and they go close as a lofted cross to the far post is lashed wide on the volley by Lewandowski.

19.04: SAVE FROM PYATOV! Milevskiy turns on a sixpence inside the Shakhtar area and somehow dinks the ball in for Aliev, but Pyatov rushes him and foils a certain goal!

19.02: Into the final 15 minutes...

18.54: GOAL FOR SHAKHTAR! Fernandinho slides in! Willian is slipped inside the right channel and squares to the goalscorer, who beats Betao to the ball at the near post for an equaliser. A valuable away goal and it's 1-1.

18.49: SO CLOSE FOR DYNAMO! Aliev fires a low shot-cum-cross into the area from Milevskiy's cutback, and Vukojevic gets a foot on it. He turns it just the wrong side of the right post though!

18.43: Another change for Shakhtar as Willian comes on for Ilsinho. Can he make a difference?

18.39: CHANCE FOR DYNAMO! Milevskiy goes oh so close to adding his, and Dynamo's, second! A free-kick is whipped in and some non-existent marking allows him a free header. Stretching, he puts it wide...

18.32: Kick off. We're back underway, and Gladkiy has replaced Adriano for Shakhtar.

18.16: Half time. Dynamo lead 1-0 at the break.

18.15: DYNAMO HIT THE POST! Correa's deflected shot from 20 yards scrapes the outside of the right post, with Pyatov helplessly rooted.

18.13: Dynamo hit on the counter, but Bagoura fires a wayward shot well over from 20 yards.

18.12: The first booking of the game is awarded to Vukojevic for a rash challenge on Luiz Adriano.

18.07: Shakhtar have really been taking the game to Dynamo over the past ten minutes. There have been a couple of openings too.

18.00: Real chance for Shakhtar! A defence-splitting pass frees Ilsinho, but his first touch just allows Bogush to rush out and slash the ball clear...

17.59: Shakhtar's first real threat comes via Fernandinho, whose low shot is spilled by Dynamo keeper Bogush. He gathers the loose ball.

17.56: Milevskiy didn't beat Chigrinsky to the ball, it came off the defender's shin as we've just established via a replay, so it goes down as an own goal...

17.50: GOAL FOR DYNAMO! Aliev fires in a low free-kick which Bangoura jumps over to allow Milevskiy to poke in at the far post. He beats Chigrinsky to it and the hosts lead 1-0.

17.48: Dynamo again go close as Milevskiy bursts through a couple of weak challenges and fires a low shot wide of the right post. He's been causing Shakhtar a few problems already.

17.43: Aliev whips a free-kick just over the bar from 20 yards for Dynamo, as he beats the wall but cannot get the ball to dip in time.

17.37: Dynamo have dominated the opening eight minutes, but Shakhtar are just starting to get their one-touch passing game going...

17.33: Have to say that having watched Shakhtar a few times, I do like their style of play. They've got a couple of decent players.

17.30: And we're underway in Ukraine...

17.05: Team news is in from the Lobanovsky Dynamo Stadium:

Dynamo Kiev: Bogush, Betao, Sablic, Yussuf, El Kaddouri, Vukojevic, Correa, Ninkovic, Aliev, Bangoura, Milevskiy
