Reading v Birmingham City
Reading know victory over Birmingham, coupled with Sheffield United failing to win at Crystal Palace, will ensure promotion - but they could have to do it without midfielder Glen Little who is struggling with a hamstring problem.
Boss Steve Coppell will turn to Stephen Hunt if Little fails to recover but he will definitely be without groin-injury victim James Harper for the promotion deciding clash.
The Royals are also waiting on Jay Tabb after the midfielder was ill in the week but Chris Armstrong, Noel Hunt and Leroy Lita all miss out.
Birmingham must win if they are to guarantee the final automatic place and bounce straight back to The Premier League, although a point will be enough if Sheffield United slip up.
Alex McLeish’s will be without Lee Bowyer after an appeal against his sending off against Preston last week was rejected.
Crystal Palace v Sheffield United
Former Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock will be out to spoil his former side’s promotion charge – but he will have to do it without a host of first-team regulars including midfielder Shaun Derry.
Derry misses out with a shoulder injury while Paul Ifill (hamstring), Sean Scannel (groin) and John Oster (neck) are all on the missing list.
Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell is expected to name the same side that saw off Swansea 1-0 last time out for the trip to south London.
But it’s not all good news for The Blades with the news defender Gary Naysmith has undergone surgery on his cruciate ligament ruling him out of the promotion run in and for at least six months.
Preston v QPR
Alan Irvine's men must win and hope results elsewhere go their way if they are to gatecrash the play-off places – but they will have to do so without Lee Williamson after the midfielder’s red card against Birmingham was upheld by The FA.
Preston are also without Ross Wallace, who is also suspended while Richard Chaplow is definitely out with a hamstring problem but Callum Davidson could return to the back four.
Dexter Blackstock, QPR's leading striker, looks set to move to Nottingham Forest as Rangers refuse to match the near £3,000-a-week pay-rise.
Hoops' last hope of enticing Blackstock back to Loftus Road disappeared when Forest secured their Championship status on Monday night.
Sheffield Wednesday v Cardiff City
Brian Laws only has concerns over Etienne Esajas who picked up a knock in the draw at Bristol City last week.
Wednesday expect a bumper crowd at Hillsborough as the Owls look to end the season on a high with Laws expected to name an unchanged side.
Cardiff boss Dave Jones will hope his side can plug the gap at the back after conceding 11 goals in their last three games with skipper Darren Purse set for a possible recall.
The Bluebirds only need one point to secure a play-off place but are likely to be without influential midfielder Joe Ledley and are sweating on Kevin McNaughton, Michael Chopra, Jay Bothroyd, Gavin Rae and Stephen McPhail.
Burnley v Bristol City
Owen Coyle’s side will guarantee a play-off place with a victory over Bristol City in front of a sold out Turf Moor.
Skipper Stephen Caldwell expects a tough game but is confident his side can pull through and seal the play-off place.
The Robins welcome back Bradley Orr from suspension but Lee Trundle misses out after straining ankle ligaments.
Gary Johnson has a long injury list but has vowed his side will be professional as a win for his side could affect final play-off positions.
Charlton v Norwich
Phil Parkinson is set to start with the same side beaten at Derby last time out as The Addicks look to end a disappointing season on a high.
With their relegation fate already sealed youngster Chris Solly may make his debut as the home side are without Matt Holland (knee), Grant Basey (hamstring) and Darren Ambrose (thigh).
Bryan Gunn's side must win at The Valley and hope Barnsley lose if they are to avoid slipping into the third tier of English football for the first time in nearly 50 years.
The Canaries’ player of the season Lee Croft is a major doubt but Gunn welcomes back on-loan striker David Mooney who was ineligible to face Reading in the week.
Plymouth v Barnsley
Barnsley manager Simon Davey faces a nervy final day in the knowledge that a point against already safe Plymouth will ensure The Tykes’ Championship status for another season.
Davey’s side are without a win since March 17 but are likely to be boosted by the return of defender Stephen Foster, who has recovered from illness but Adam Hammill (ankle) and Dennis Souza (groin) remain doubts.
In the other dugout Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock will enjoy a relaxed afternoon after back-to-back wins in April played a major role in ensuring The Pilgrims remain in English football’s second tier for the fifth consecutive season.
Defender Craig Cathcart, on-loan from Manchester United, is still out after he limped away from the games against Blackpool but otherwise Plymouth will be at full strength with Sturrock insisting his side will go all out for the win.
Ipswich v Coventry
Ipswich boss Roy Keane can call upon the services of Giovani dos Santos after the Mexico international was given the all clear despite widespread concerns over a swine flu epidemic.
Keane, who is targeting a third successive win as Ipswich boss, will also have Alex Bruce and Moritz Volz available after the duo recovered from a dislocated thumb and groin injury respectively.
Coventry’s Elliott Ward (ankle) and Dan Fox, who is serving a three-game ban after seeing red against Watford, will both miss the trip to Portman Road.
After only one win in 12 games, City boss Chris Coleman has openly admitted his thoughts have turned to next season.
Nottingham Forest v Southampton
Southampton will bid to wave goodbye to live in The Championship on a high when they travel to Nottingham Forest, who secured their survival with a point against Blackpool last time out.
Boss Mark Wotte will be without midfielder Paul Wotton (fractured upper jaw) and winger Lee Holmes (knee) but Oliver Lancashire and Lee Molyneux should be back for the League One bound side.
Nottingham Forest striker Nathan Tyson (ankle), keeper Iain Turner (toe) and Kelvin Wilson (three-match suspension) are set to miss the season finale.
With his side now safe from relegation Forest boss Billy Davies may give Guy Moussi a run out as he continues his rehabilitation from an ankle injury.
Swansea v Blackpool
Swansea will be without full back Angel Rangel is a major doubt with an Achilles problem as The Swans look to end the season on a high despite the play-offs being out of reach.
Captain and centre back Garry Monk also faces a late fitness test on a hamstring strain although boss Roberto Martinez may not risk his influential skipper.
Blackpool captain Rob Edwards has been ruled out after he had surgery on his problematic ankle in a bid to be fit for next season.
Alex-John Baptiste will move into central defence to partner Shaun Barker with Danny Coid or Simon Walton filling in at right-back.
Watford v Derby
With both sides comfortably safe from the drop there is little to play for at Vicarage Road except a morale-boosting end to the season.
Watford will be without defender Mike Williamson but despite missing training this week striker Tommy Smith and defender Jay DeMerit should recover from ankle and groin problems respectively.
Derby County’s players could all be playing for their futures after boss Nigel Clough revealed this week he has a ‘long list’ of summer transfer targets.
The former Burton Albion manager has also hinted he will give youth a chance in the final game of the season and could ring the changes.
Wolverhampton v Doncaster
Champions Wolves will be aiming to reach 90 points for the season with victory over Doncaster.
Boss Mick McCarthy should have no trouble firing up his players with transfer speculation already mounting ahead of the club’s return to the top flight.
Doncaster, who could end the season in 12th with victory, have doubts over midfielder James Coppinger (ankle) and defender Matt Mills (groin) for the trip to Molineux.
Rovers boss Sean O’Driscoll could hand starts to Waide Fairhurst and Lewis Guy if Coppinger and Mills fail to recover.
