Fabregas: I've done nothing wrong

by Tom Adams , 01 May 2009

Cesc Fabregas has once again pleaded his innocence after being charged with two counts of improper conduct and accused of spitting at Hull City assistant manager Brian Horton.

Fabregas has until May 12 to respond to the charges levelled at him by The Football Association following a stormy FA Cup encounter at Emirates Stadium in March.

Arsenal defeated Hull 2-1 and Fabregas entered the field of play following the final whistle despite not playing a part in the match.

The Spanish midfielder faces one improper conduct for that behaviour and has also been accused by Tigers boss Phil Brown of the more serious offence of spitting at Horton.

However Fabregas, who immediately claimed his innocence after the accusations were levelled at him by Brown, feels his behaviour was within the bounds of acceptability.

"If I am suspended for that, my heart and my mind will be relaxed because I have not done anything wrong,” Fabregas told the Press Association.

"Eight players were on the pitch as well, so then everyone should be suspended.”

Brown has also been charged with improper conduct and/or bringing the game into disrepute following his comments about referee Mike Riley following the final whistle.
