Lyon moved to within four points of the joint leaders in Ligue 1 after a 3-0 win against Nantes.
Jean Makoun scored twice in the first half as Nantes missed out on the chance to move out of the bottom three.
Makoun firstly pounced with a close range header in the sixth-minute as he benefited from Honorato Campos Ederson’s headed pass.
Nantes’ Remi Mareval had a near miss with a header of his own midway through the first half before Makoun netted from the right side of the six-yard box in the 34th-minute.
Guillaume Moullec went close to halving the deficit with a shot that just missed the target following the interval.
Anthony Mounier added a third for Lyon in the 79th-minute when he headed home Kim Kallstrom’s cross.
Marseille lead the pack on 68 points ahead of Bordeaux on goal difference, as Lyon move on to 64.
