FC Twente manager Steve McClaren has turned his back on a possible move to Ajax.
The former England head coach succeeded in his hard task to make a name for himself in the Dutch league, as he led Twente to second spot in his first season in charge and also lost in the Dutch Cup final.
McClaren has been linked to Eredivisie giants Ajax, following Marco van Basten’s resignation, but the Englishman has committed himself to Twente and rejected the idea of leaving the club after a single season in charge of the first team.
The tactician has stated that he has not been approached by the Amsterdam Arena outfit.
“I have no intention of departing FC Twente,” McClaren told the domestic press.
“It is only rumours.”
