The Craic: Addick-ted

THE PITCH

Our attempted forays into the world of TV and film have had little success, so time to turn our attention to cartoons. Matt Stone and Trey Parker, watch your backs...

Banana Man-iche: Cartoon-style escapades following the Portuguese midfielder as he tries to secure a contract at a new club, by eating... bananas?

ADDICK-TED

Bordeaux’s Marouane Chamakh has been linked to a series of English clubs, with the likes of Manchester City having been touted as a possible destination for the Morocco international.

However, we can’t help but feel that he perhaps needs to reassess his options and re-think who he employs to negotiate any potential deals...

“I am not sure that moving to Portsmouth, Everton, Charlton or Bolton would be good for his career plan,” Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud said.

We wouldn’t have thought that a switch to Charlton – plying their trade in League One next season – would be much of a step-up from playing Champions League football with the French title challengers.

BEST OF ENEMIES

Fresh from seeing their favourite son Ricky Hatton sitting with Rio Ferdinand in the United section during the Manchester derby, City fans will be less than pleased with who Elano is mixing with away from Eastlands.

The Brazilian has told the press in his homeland that he is pals with some of the stars at Old Trafford. “I have several friends here and I have dined or shopped several times with Rafael, Tevez, Nani and Cristiano Ronaldo,” he revealed.

With talk that Robinho was out partying with some of the Red Devils stars celebrating their title win, at least these rich, young footballers have plenty in common – even if they do play for fierce rivals.

We guess it’s no different from the 60s or 70s when the two sides would kick lumps out of each other in the derby but mix socially all the time. Mike Summerbee and George Best were pals off the pitch, for instance.

CAPTION COMPETITION

The rain delays in Thursday's ODI between England and West Indies gave Tim Bresnan the chance to forge a new career, but what is the caption that encapsulates this moment?
