Ikechukwu Uche, who has been hailed by Arsene Wenger, is keen on moving to England, his brother Kalu told setanta.com.
Arsenal manager Wenger, who co-commentated on France’s friendly with Nigeria in St Etienne live on French TV on Tuesday night, has hailed Super Eagles star Ikechukwu Uche and implied that he would ask for the attacker’s phone number after the game.
The 25-year-old forward shone at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard and was the star of the show in Nigeria’s narrow win over Les Bleus.
The Gunners boss was impressed by the Getafe star’s display and praised him on many occasions during the encounter.
“What’s his name again? Ikechukwu Uche. I should ask for his phone number,” Wenger said on Tf1.
The African’s brother Kalu, who currently plays for Spanish side Almeria, has expressed his pride and stated that Ikechukwu would jump at the chance of playing Premier League football.
“He has been doing very well for Getafe, helping them to avoid the drop in the Primera Liga, and he has also been quite impressive with Nigeria,” Kalu Uche told setanta.com.
“I had no idea that Arsene Wenger had said lovely things about him. It makes me feel proud.
“Of course moving to England would attract him, especially if we are speaking about such a top club as Arsenal.”
