Speaking to setanta.com, Philippe Senderos has begged Milan to turn his loan move from Arsenal into a permanent arrangement.
The young Swiss centre back was sent on loan to the San Siro last summer after failing to establish himself as a starter at Emirates Stadium.
Senderos has been the scapegoat for some Gunners fans in recent seasons, with the defender making high profile mistakes, and Arsene Wenger opted to farm him out on loan.
The 23-year-old made only 14 Serie A appearances for the Rossoneri, who finished the season in third under Carlo Ancelotti who has since then joined Chelsea.
Despite his failure to impose himself in Italy, the defender has stated that staying in Serie A would be better for his career.
“I am waiting for news about my future,” Senderos told setanta.com. “At the present time it depends on Arsenal.
“As far as I am concerned I would like to stay in Milan because I do not think that there is a place for me at Arsenal.
“But right now it’s up to Arsenal to do something.”
The defender has stated that a number of Premier League clubs have enquired about his services, with Aston Villa believed to be on his tail.
“I am aware that several English clubs have asked about me, but there’s nothing much I know,” he said.
“I experienced ups and downs at Arsenal but maybe at one moment they didn’t have enough patience and I went out on loan.”
Senderos understand that Milan’s new coach Leonardo could offer him another chance to prove himself.
“My season with Milan wasn’t great, but I understand that my style of football corresponds more to the Italian league than to the English one,” he humbly added.
“I didn’t have any problem with Ancelotti. The reason why I didn’t play much this season is the internal competition, which is huge in here.
“It’s an issue but I remain pretty much optimistic and want another chance. A new manager has taken over and I could have more opportunities to play under him.”
