Porto star Hulk has been the subject of approaches from clubs in England and Spain, but his Portuguese employers have no interest in selling him.
The Brazilian striker has attracted interest from across Europe with his performances for Porto in the Champions League this season.
His displays prompted offers for his services, but with a hefty release clause written into his contract no move was forthcoming.
Now, a business associate of the player’s agent has claimed that Barcelona and Real Madrid are tracking Hulk, with clubs in England also keen on him.
"There were two proposals, one in England and one in Spain, but Porto refused outright. In principle, Hulk has one more year [at Porto]," said Teodoro Fonseca, a business partner of the player’s agent Juan Figer.
"Porto are not interested in selling Hulk. I will disclose the value of the release clause, which is €40 million (£34m). They will not sell him for €38m."
Fonseca continued: "I cannot reveal who made these proposals. I can only say that the big clubs in Spain, like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, among others, are following his career with great attention.
"In England, the clubs that have the financial capacity to pay more than €30m have followed the situation for a while."
Despite the claimed interest, Hulk is content at Porto for the time being and has no intention of moving on for now.
"Hulk is very happy at Porto, is well adapted to the city, the environment and the club and is not thinking of leaving," added Fonseca.
Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been credited with holding an interest in the 22-year-old.
