Becks to take time over future

by Alex Livie , 11 June 2009

David Beckham has told Setanta Sports News he is in no rush to make a decision on his future.

The midfielder is due to head back to LA Galaxy in the coming days following the conclusion of his loan spell at Milan.

He will travel to America on a high following his midfield masterclass against Andorra on Wednesday, but it is not clear what the future holds.

Beckham is likely to crave a return to Europe to keep himself in the picture for a place at next summer’s World Cup, but he will not rush his decision.

“I am going back to The Galaxy to finish off the season and in December I will see where I go,whether it be Milan or somewhere else,” Beckham told Setanta Sports News.

“I will have to wait and see, but the manager knows I am passionate about playing football not just for my country.

“I will enjoy my few weeks off and then head back to Galaxy.”

Beckham made his 100th start for England on Wednesday and he is happy with the way he is performing for his country.

“I enjoyed playing,” said Beckham. “I enjoy playing whether it’s for 15 minutes or 90.

“It is a great squad to be around and team to be in.

“People have been talking about me getting easy caps, but subs can come on and make a difference in a game. I’ve done it at times and others have done it and 100 starts is not bad so I’m happy.”
