Moussa Dembele’s agent has confirmed that Chelsea have contacted AZ Alkmaar regarding the striker.
Carlo Ancelotti’s Blues are apparently determined to lure the young forward away from Eredivisie champions Alkmaar.
The Belgian press have claimed that Dembele’s transfer to Stamford Bridge could be in excess of the €20 million Everton paid for Marouane Fellaini last summer.
Dembele will turn 22 in July, and it has been claimed by La Derniere Heure that The Blues have offered AZ the chance to keep him on a loan basis until summer 2010.
“Indeed, there was a first official contact between both clubs on Wednesday,” agent Patrick Vervoort told La Derniere Heure.
“Chelsea said they want to speak about Moussa.”
