Karim Benzema is an option for Inter if they lose Zlatan Ibrahimovic, club supremo Massimo Moratti has confirmed.
Talks over a swap deal between Ibra and Barcelona goal-machine Samuel Eto’o have stalled, but Moratti still understands that the Swede could leave the San Siro this summer.
And Lyon hit-man Benzema could be the striker’s successor at the Nerazzurri, even if Inter’s chief rates Ibrahimovic higher than the Frenchman.
“There is a bit of truth in this option,” Moratti told L’Equipe when asked whether he would be interested in luring Benzema away from OL.
“We don’t want to be taken by surprise in the case Ibra was to move on. Benzema is a strong player, he is talented. But to me, Ibra is a better player than him.”
