Silva focused on Spain duties

by Laurent Picard , 16 June 2009

Reported Manchester United and Real Madrid target David Silva has refused to speculate about his future.

The Valencia right midfielder has been linked to a host of clubs, including United, who are looking to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, and Madrid, who are building an impressive squad composed of international players.

But Silva is focused on his international duties with Spain at the Confederations Cup and he has refused to speak about a possible transfer.

“At the present time I am focused on Spain, which is the most important thing,” Silva told Spanish press agency EFE.

“What I want to do is speak about the present, we will see about the future. I am just thinking of the selection.”

The winger spent a large part of last season on the sidelines due to injury and he is slowly recovering his best form.

“Step by step I fell better,” he said. “I hope that I will improve in order to be back at 100%. It is just a question of weeks.”
