Jim Jefferies has confirmed the signing of Middlesbrough winger Graeme Owens on a two-year contract.
The 21-year-old has spent time training with Kilmarnock and has done enough to earn a deal with the Ayrshire outfit.
Owens made eight appearances while on-loan at Blackpool last season and Jefferies is pleased to complete to deal, particularly at it helps to ensure he has the required three under-21 players in his match-day squad.
“Graeme has been a target of mine for some time and we liked what we saw from him during his short spell with us,” Jefferies said in The Scottish Daily Express.
“He was on the fringes of the Middlesbrough first team. He had a spell on loan last season with Blackpool but felt the time was right for a fresh challenge.
“The bonus for us is that he still qualifies as an under-21 player for The SPL, which helps us when we are having to operate with a smaller squad.”
