Mourinho coy on Ibra’s future

by Laurent Picard , 16 June 2009

Inter manager Jose Mourinho has hailed Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the best striker in the world.

The Sweden international, who has been linked to Barcelona, is a better striker than Samuel Eto’o, Didier Drogba and Karim Benzema, according to his Portuguese coach.

Mourinho would be happy to keep him at the San Siro, but he understands that a mega offer, even if it were not as high as Real Madrid’s bid for Cristiano Ronaldo, could convince the Nerazzurri directors to let him go.

“I prefer Ibrahimovic to Eto’o, Drogba and Benzema,” Mourinho said on Telelombardia.

“Nobody will pay for Ibra what he is worth on the real market and nobody will pay the same as for Cristiano Ronaldo.

“But in football you can never say [never].”
