Cissokho’s dream move to Milan collapses

by Laurent Picard , 18 June 2009

Milan general manager Adriano Galliani has confirmed that Aly Cissokho will not sign with the Rossoneri.

Porto full back Cissokho, who was an unknown French second division player a year ago, agreed terms regarding a dream move to the San Siro at the end of the season.

But the defender will finally remain in Portugal, as an unsuccessful medical has revealed Cissokho has a dental problem which could lead to various injuries in the future.

Galliani has revealed that despite the issue, the Italian club tried to secure a loan deal plus an option for a permanent move, but Porto's demands prevented a deal.

“Porto’s demands were far too high,” Galliani was quoted as saying in La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Nevertheless, Cissokho’s agent Roger Boli understands that the transfer will still go through.

He told L’Equipe TV: “Aly will be a Rossonero next season. Galliani confirmed to me that he [the player] will be there for the return to training. Both clubs are negotiating a loan deal.”
