Inter chief slaps price on Ibrahimovic

by Toby Davis , 18 June 2009

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be sold, according to Inter managing director Ernesto Paolillo, but he will cost as much as Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Swedish striker was heavily linked with a switch to Barcelona while Chelsea were also reported to be in the running for his signature.

Inter have always maintained their desire to keep hold of their prize asset in the face of mounting interest, but the club now appear to be softening their not-for-sale stance.

Paolilo, however, insists it will take a massive offer to prise the forward away from the San Siro, more than Madrid recently paid Milan for Kaka and around the same figure as the Spanish giants offered for Ronaldo.

“Ibra is worth more than Kaka, but maybe less than Ronaldo,” he said in Corriere dello Sport.

“The value of Ibrahimovic is very close to the price paid by Real Madrid for Cristiano Ronaldo. I do not know if he will leave, but at the right price anything can happen.”
