Five Premier League clubs are showing interest in Serbia midfielder Nemanja Matic – according to his agent.
Matic, who plays for Slovak outfit MFK Kosice, was thought to be on the brink of a move to Middlesbrough in January but instead opted to stay put.
However, with admiring glances now coming from both Udinese and Juventus as well as a host of English sides – thought to include Aston Villa, Birmingham, Chelsea, Fulham and Tottenham – a summer move looks increasingly likely.
The player’s agent admits that the speed of negotiations with the various interested parties is likely to be ramped up next week.
"We have received offers from Udinese, Genoa and Cska Moscow,” said Allen Bula.
“This week, however, I will have meetings with five Premier League teams in Sweden."
Udinese are thought to be leading the race for the player’s signature but Bula was at pains to point out that ‘no offer has been accepted’.
