German outfit eye Blackburn teenager

by Toby Davis , 19 June 2009

Blackburn teenager David Hoilett could return to loan club St Pauli in Germany if Rovers fail to secure a work permit for the teenager.

The 19-year-old, who joined Rovers in 2007, spent last season on loan at the Bundesliga second division club, and caught the eye of Rovers boss Sam Allardyce who is keen to see him return to England.

But the Ewood Park manager is now sweating over a work permit for the Canadian, who is contracted to Rovers until 2010.

St Pauli’s sporting director Helmut Sculte, however, says they are keen to either tie up a permanent deal for the teenager or extend his loan with the club.

“Either Blackburn extend his current deal and he will be loaned out again or he will be sold,” Schulte told Hamburger Abenblatt.

“We are prepared for both eventualities and have positioned ourselves accordingly. We have done everything we could do.”

“Whatever happens we will take him. The door at FC St Pauli is always open to him.”
