It's home time for Donati

by Gordon Pope , 20 June 2009

Massimo Donati has reiterated his desire to leave Celtic with a return to Italy in his sights.

The midfielder was almost forgotten about last season after only making four league appearances for The Bhoys, and now he is desperate to move to his homeland.

“I hope that one of the interested clubs makes some progress soon,” he said in Calcio Mercato.

“I heard something about Napoli, but it seems that every day I am going somewhere else, like Genoa or Palermo.

“I am happy to be attracting interest from these clubs, but I need an offer on the table before I can think seriously about it.

“We hope something happens soon.”

The 28-year-old was once signed by Milan for £10 million but now looks set to leave Celtic Park for a fraction of the £3 million fee Gordon Strachan paid.
