Everton defender Lars Jacobsen has revealed that he is set to sign a contract extension at Everton this summer.
The Denmark international, 29, joined The Toffees on a one-year deal from Nurnberg last year and, despite spending much of the campaign on the sidelines with a shoulder injury, Jacobsen says he is likely to be offered a new deal.
“Of course it is good that, despite having a difficult season, I have convinced the right people at Everton that I am part of the future of the club,” he said.
“I am extremely happy to be at Everton, but now I must wait for people to come back from vacation so I can clarify things.”
His agent, Karsten Aabrink, added in Ekstra Bladet: “It is true that Everton would like to extend the contract, but no decision will be taken before the start of July.”
