Shaun Murphy claimed victory over John Higgins in the World Series of Snooker final on Sunday to gain a modicum of revenge for his World Championship final loss to the Scot.
The Englishman, who was well beaten by Higgins at The Crucible a week ago, took the Algarve crown after seeing off the Scot 6-2 with a dominant display.
The first four frames were shared between the duo but it was all Murphy after the interval, the 2005 world champion rattling off successive centuries and then winning the two frames that followed as well to claim the €50,000 top prize.
Earlier, Murphy had reached the final by beating 2006 world champ Graeme Dott 5-4, while three-time world king Higgins downed a third Scot, Stephen Maguire, 5-3 in the last four.
