Sergeant gets major Scarlets role

The Scarlets have confirmed that former Millennium Stadium boss Paul Sergeant is to be their new chief executive.

Sergeant will take over from Stuart Gallacher from August 17, where he will be reunited with former Welsh Rugby Union and Millennium Stadium colleague Rupert Moon, the Parc y Scarlets region’s recently appointed commercial director.

He takes on the role after a spell as manager of Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium and is pleased with his new post.

"It's a great honour and thrill for me to be joining The Scarlets at such an exciting point in their growth and development,” said Sergeant, 48.

"I am very excited about the challenge of taking The Scarlets business forward in a magnificent new stadium, and with such a passionate support base, the region has all it needs to build a highly successful future.

"I can't wait to help them achieve that goal and becoming part of the famous Scarlets rugby community."
