Nicky Henderson has been found guilty of being in breach of the rules of racing in relation to the running of Moonlit Path at Huntingdon in February.
Henderson appeared before the BHA on Monday to answer charges of breaching Rule 200 after Moonlit Path tested positive for tranexamic acid, an anti-bleeding drug, following her run in the TurfTV Mares' Novices' Hurdle on February 19.
The Seven Barrows handler faced four charges at the meeting and pleaded guilty to three, but denied any wrongdoing in relation to Rule 200. However, the disciplinary panel found him in breach of the rule with a punishment due to be handed out next Monday.
Penalties for the rule breach include a fine of £2,500 or a one-year ban from the training ranks.
Henderson was also found to be in breach of Rule 53 and 221(b) (i) and 221(b) (ii), and the range of penalties range from a £1,000 fine or disqualification from a month to five years.
Monday's hearing was chaired by Tim Charlton QC but he will write up his reasons for the breach of the Rules before a punishment is handed down to the trainer, who saddled Punjabi to victory in the Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle last March.
"With the breach of Rule 200 being of such a serious nature, they (the panel) decided to deliberate longer on a suitable penalty before reconvening on a suitable date," the BHA stated.
Henderson declined to make a comment after the hearing.
