Ken Hogan, the former manager of the Tipperary hurlers, has been handed a two year term in charge of the county's under-21 side.

Hogan - who managed Tipp for two years after taking over from Michael Doyle in 2003 - won two All-Ireland titles and five Munster crowns with the county between 1987 and 1993 and takes over the post from his former team-mate Declan Carr.

He will be assisted in his new role by Tommy Dunne, TJ Connolly and William Maher.
