Fergie's learnt his lesson

by Steve Claridge , 16 May 2009

I don’t think since The Premier League started that Manchester United have finished outside the top three.

They’ve had their dips - I remember a couple of years where they seemed to be on the wane. It was Arsenal and Chelsea that were competing and they were very much third best.

Ferguson made one or two very dodgy buys but he learnt the lesson very, very quickly and he’s certainly made up for that since!

They have been the dominant force since The Premier League’s inception.

Carlos Tevez probably doesn’t feel he’s played a big enough part in their title win - that’s why he’s said what he’s said.

He played against Arsenal but came off after about 59 minutes. There was a shake of the head, his head was down, the body language isn’t great between the Tevez and Ferguson.

It’s coming to the point where that needs to be resolved and resolved rather quickly.

I think when Carlos Tevez looks back and analyses it, he’s actually played a bigger part than he realises.

You look back to Tottenham, you look back at Wigan, there were one or two moments there where it could have gone either way. He’s certainly played his part.
