Any commentator who says they've never Googled themselves is a liar! It's worth noting what's being said about you, especially when Old Firm fans are involved - you just know they'll get to the point pretty quickly.
If I get abuse from both sets of fans in equal measure I'm happy with that. If the Celtic fans think you are a Rangers fan and vice-versa then you must be striking a balance somewhere in the middle. I'm not sure whether that is entirely logical but I pretend it is.
One fan suggested he met me at a function in Glasgow where I admitted which Old Firm side I supported. So not true! Believe it or not, not everyone has to have an Old Firm leaning and I have always been neutral - it has served me well. I support West Ham - it is allowed you know, although not recommended. I also read on another website that Gary McSwegan is my brother-in-law. That'll be news to my sister who is married to a Frenchman!
As usual there are some intriguing side issues to the latest installment of the Old Firm saga, not in the least the recent bust-up between Artur Boruc and Aiden McGeady. Both have been on the front pages more than the back this season and Gordon Strachan must be running out of patience. But what can he do? On their day they could easily be two of his most effective players. But neither can afford more front pages. Boruc had a nightmare when Rangers visited Celtic Park in August. It's been an error-strewn season by his standards. He needs a big performance.
Will John Fleck start for Rangers? He doesn't look like he'd be fazed by it that's for sure. Will Kris Boyd start for Rangers? Doubtful if they go with one up front. Despite his phenomenal record he rarely starts an Old Firm game and has only scored once against Celtic in his career. He must be so fed up of hearing that stat so here's one he'll prefer. It'll be his 100th SPL match for Rangers on Sunday and he has scored 71 goals in the previous 99. Not bad Kris! Scott McDonald though has scored three goals in his last two Old Firm games - that's the way to do it!
Let's be honest the Christmas derby at Ibrox was a stinker. Boyd fluffed his big chance, McDonald took his and that was that really. But I suspect the usual chaos, mayhem and excitement will return in abundance on Sunday - with the odd bit of football thrown in! We are due another epic encounter. There is still nothing quite like an Old Firm game. Bring it on.
