Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is a relieved man after it was revealed that Ryan Nelsen's knee injury is not as bad as feared.
The 32-year-old hobbled out of the action during the 3-0 win over Bolton last week and the were fears that his knee injury may keep him out for months, with the World Cup worries for the New Zealand international.
The latest scans show that the Rovers skipper is likely to be sidelined for a matter of weeks rather than months much to the boss' relief.
Allardyce told the club's official website: "We were all worried initially, but now we've had the scans and it has settled down, we are all much more comfortable.
"
We are going to miss Ryan for the next few weeks rather than months, which we first feared.
"So, I expect to see Ryan back in the next two or three weeks hopefully.
"
It might take a bit longer, but we will see him well before the end of the season, that's for sure."
