Allardyce eyes bright future

by Admin , 03 March 2010

Sam Allardyce is delighted with the progress being made by his Blackburn youngsters and believes the future is a bright one.

Junior Hoilett and Martin Olsson have progressed into the first-team squad this season after making their way through the ranks, while Allardyce is also delighted with the way new signings Steven Nzonzi and Nikola Kalinic have adapted to life in the Premier League.

"I am excited," Allardyce revealed. "I think the rapid growth of the youngsters has been a real bonus and a real pleasure for me.

"Players who were already here like Junior Hoilett and Martin Olsson have started to emerge as regular first team players in their early 20s.

"Also the new players we have brought in and wanted to develop, perhaps not for this season, have been outstanding.

"Steven Nzonzi and Nikola Kalinic are playing far more of a role than we believed they would at this point.

"That stands us in real good stead."
