Blackburn Rovers' injury plagued midfielder Steven Reid is set for a 'make or break' loan spell at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.
The Republic of Ireland International has made one Premier League appearance all season and knows he must impress Sam Allardyce to earn a new deal in the summer.
Reid is set to join a team in a relegation battle and Owls boss Alan Irvine will hope that the ex-Millwall man can rediscover his ability to weigh in with goals from midfield after close to two years out with injuries.
The 28-year-old has previously been on loan to Queens Park Rangers this season but hamstring problems restricted him to just two appearances.
