Charlton boss Phil Parkinson wants to extend the loan spell of Johnnie Jackson but fears they may not be able to afford it.
Jackson is impressing after arriving at the Valley on a one-month loan deal from Notts County and Parkinson hopes to extend the deal if he can find the cash.
The player also wants to stay but ultimately it will come down to cash.
"Johnnie is halfway through his loan and I would like to keep him now that Grant Basey is out for the season," Parkinson told BBC Radio Kent.
"Johnnie wants to stay but financially it will be tight for us."
