Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has voiced his upset at missing out on playing in Arsenal's crunch Champions League last 16 second leg game with Porto at the Emirates on Tuesday evening.
In a potentially fatal blow to the Gunners' hopes of progress their star man was ruled out of the game with a hamstring injury he picked up shortly after scoring in Saturday's 3-1 win over Burnley.
With the Gunners trailing Jesualdo Ferreira's side 2-1 from the first leg, albeit controversially, they have some work to do against the men from Portugal and now have to do it without inspirational midfield gem Fabregas, with Arsene Wenger saying the player is not fit enough to gamble on.
Fabregas is disappointed by this however, the Spaniard saying he would be willing to play through the pain to try and help his side advance to the last eight.
Fabregas said in The Sun: "I wanted to play but the doctors recommended I rest and avoid any risk.
"I am sad to miss out because Porto is important to us. I will suffer far more than usual, having to watch from the side."
Fabregas could return against Hull City on Saturday with scans confirming that there is no lasting damage and the Porto game has just come too soon.
