Justin McCarthy's position as manager of the Limerick hurlers is under renewed pressure, after it emerged that a special county board meeting has been arranged to discuss the current crisis.
A reported eight clubs have submitted a request for a meeting, with Garryspillane leading the way.
A minimum of five requests is needed for this meeting, where the future of McCarthy is expected to be discussed, to take place.
McCarthy survived a vote to retain his services last December.
However, subsequent events and poor results in the Waterford Crystal Cup and Allianz National Hurling league have forced a rethink.
