Alan Pardew may recall David Connolly and Lloyd James to the Southampton squad for the game against Leeds after last week's defeat.
The Saints are 16 points off a play-off spot after last week's surprise defeat to Tranmere and Pardew might decide to freshen up his side by recalling Connolly and James.
Connolly hasn't played since the turn of the year because of a groin injury while James has missed the last month with an ankle problem.
The duo's return to full fitness comes at a good time with Lee Holmes out for another fortnight while Graeme Murty might not feature again this season because of an ankle problem.
