Blues blast Cole rumours

by Admin , 15 March 2010 Chelsea Generic

Chelsea officials have blasted reports suggesting Ashley Cole will not play again this season after suffering an injury setback.

Cole is currently on the sidelines with a broken ankle and reports in the press over the weekend claimed the player had suffered further problems that would rule him of the rest of the campaign and also make him a serious doubt for the World Cup.

However the Blues have rubbished such talk and say the defender is 'bang on schedule' to return before the end of the campaign when he will hope to play a part in the club's push for honours.

A Chelsea spokesman said: "The club's medical staff are delighted with Ashley's operation and the treatment he's received so far. Contrary to reports, he's recovering extremely well from his injury and he's bang on schedule."
