Dunn's home at risk of new paint job

by JP Lonergan , 16 March 2010

Burnley fans are apparently set to target the home of Blackburn Rovers star David Dunn ahead of the clubs' March 28 meeting.

Despite their not being in the same division since 2001 until this season there is little love lost between the Lancashire rivals and fans of Burnley are now set to show their true colours - by painting them all over Dunn's home.

The former Birmingham City man has been warned by police of a plot to vandalise his home by painting it claret and blue - the colours of Blackburn's East Lancashire rivals.

The game will be a must-win for a woefully out of form Burnley side and should Dunn help to put another nail in their coffin - Burnley are second from bottom of the Premier League with one win since October - he would likely have the last laugh, having also scored when Rovers beat the Clarets 3-2 at Ewood Park earlier in the campaign.

A huge police operation is now set to take place on the day of the Lancashire derby to stifle out any trouble, with Police Chief Inspector Jeff Brown saying that any trouble on the day would be treated 'very fairly and very firmly' before adding in the Lancashire Telegraph: "There will be a great atmosphere on the day and our job is to ensure that it passes without incident."
