Swann swims into top two

Graeme Swann has moved into second place in the ICC's Test bowling rankings after his 10-wicket haul in the first Test at Chittagong.

The England spinner, who has apologised for swearing at Bangladesh centurion Junaid Siddique, proved to be the matchwinner when he ended Siddique and Mushfiqur Rahim's four-and-a-half hour second innings vigil, a 167-run stand.

Swann dismissed both batsmen and, like in the summer's final Ashes Test, took the final wicket to ensure victory for England.

He also become the first English off-spinner to take 10 wickets in a match since Jim Laker in 1956.

Swann ended 2009 - a year in which he took 54 wickets in 12 Tests - in third position on the ICC bowler's ranking list, but had slipped to fifth before the start of the Bangladesh series.

He has also moved up to third in the rankings for Test all-rounders.
