Striker makes U-turn on future

by Admin , 18 March 2010 football news

In-form striker Roman Pavyluchenko has insisted he is happy at Spurs and wants to stay beyond the end of the season.

The big Russian was ready to quit White Hart Lane at the start of the year after becoming unhappy and disgruntled at his lack of first-team opportunities under boss Harry Redknapp.

Birmingham made enquiries about signing the £14m striker while he was also linked with a return to Russia but Pavyluchenko has scored eight goals in his last six games to fire Tottenham into a Champions League place and says he now wants to stay at Spurs.

Pavyluchenko said: "I'm not in a hurry to take major decisions on my career, unlike last month when I was sure that I would leave Tottenham. "

When you have constant playing practice, you perceive everything in a positive way.

"I now think only about the end of the league season."
