The Melbourne Rebels have confirmed their interest in signing Ireland international Jamie Heaslip.
With the Australian outfit scheduled to join an expanded Super 14 series next year, they are currently trying to recruit as many high-profile players as possible and have reacted swiftly to the Leinster number eight's revelation earlier this week that he would like to play abroad at some point in his career.
"We're making enquiries about him," Rebels head coach Rod Macqueen is quoted as saying by The Australian newspaper.
The newly-formed franchise have already confirmed the signing of London Wasps fly-half Danny Cipriani for 2011.
