Southampton have refused to comment on speculation linking boss Alan Pardew with a shock return to West Ham United.
Pardew spent three years in the Hammers hot-seat before leaving in 2006 and he is being linked with a return to Upton Park as rumours circulate suggesting current West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola is about to be axed.
Reports have now emerged linking Pardew with a switch to West Ham, while Scottish giants Celtic are also thought to be keeping an eye on the Saints boss.
However, Southampton have refused to discuss the rumours while the club can still snatch a play-off place. Saints are seven points adrift of sixth placed Huddersfield with just three league fixtures remaining.
Club spokesman Jordan Sibley said: "Our task remains the same, to win our remaining fixtures.
"Three wins from three games could still get us into the playoffs and as we all know we have the ability to do that."
